Sardines in lemon sauce


These Mediterranean sardines are less oily than the Atlantic variety, so much better to serve in a sauce.

1. In a large dish, mix lemon juice with white wine, salt, sugar, white pepper and chili pepper.
2. Clean and dry sardines, coat with cornstarch or flour.
3. Shallow fry sardines until golden brown, dress with lemon sauce, & serve.
