I had many delicious meals in the 4 days in Taichung, the most memorable is Sur, with 4 young men working in the kitchen.
Very interesting and meaningful mix of fusion ingredients, used with thought, a lot of flavour in every dish, so well executed, bravo!

A lot of street food, made to order, good value if you have the appetite for oily, dough type food. Fine dinning has a few good option too, I have to skip breakfast in order to have the hungry feeling to enjoy the eating scene.

Went at the opening hour 10:30am to buy award winning sourdough bread from 吳寶春麥方店, big shop with working kitchen, many young staff making bread on the spot. Very tasty bread, so easy and tempting to eat slice after slice.
Also visited a few renovated old buildings, previously clinics and bank, have to say they have done a good job, kept the spirit of the old place, a few untouched walls, and even product packagings are thought of, a feast for the eyes.

Very lucky to have good weather in the 4 days trip to Taichung, said to have the mildest weather in the island. It is less hectic than Taipei, with a relaxed feel, more open spaces and very country style friendly soft spoken people.
Spent a lot of time walking around, markets, shops, parks and eating places. There are some modern buildings, but what caught my eyes are those nearly 100 years old buildings, build in a style of that era, I hope they could maintain all of them, instead of pull down and rebuild.
