This year, I grew some cabbages under a net cover, and some among tomato plants, both methods successfully stopped white butterflies laying eggs on cabbage leaves. This is a big problem with this brassica family of plants (e.g. cauliflower, brusselsprouts), as the eggs hatch into caterpillars and feed on the leaves.
