Sweet potato

I planted 2 purple sweet potatoes from Hong Kong this spring, the plants grew healthily, developing long stems and leaves spreading on the land surface. I cut a foot off each shoot and transplanted them elsewhere, this is an easy way to propagate the plant. Most of them survived and I ended up having over 10 plants. I dug them all up in mid October: each plant gave me at least 10 sweet potatoes, they have a rich deep purple colour after cooking.
