I made an agreement
with an organic pig and cow farmer, who comes to cut the grass on my land free
of charge, in return, he takes 2/3 of the grass away for free. The rest is left
on the ground to rot down as green manure.
With unstable weather
in recent years and feed price going up, he is very happy to have this extra amount
of grass for his animals.
To cut grass, farmers
need to have minimum 3 consecutive sunny days, the first day to cut, second day
to turn over the grass to dry more thoroughly, the last day to gather up into
big rolls, then it is rain proof.
