Lentil with mushroom and lettuce


Just found out by adding a small spoon of baking powder, or less if using baking soda, beans like lentil will be ready in half its normal cooking time.
1. Simmer 1 part lentil in 2 parts water with half tsp of baking powder.
2. Cut mushroom into small pieces, lettuce into strips. Sweat mushroom in olive oil until soft, season with salt and pepper.
3. When lentil turns soft, around half an hour, switch off heat, cover with lid and let it rest for 10 minutes. Mix in mushroom and lettuce.
