Went southwest to Sossusvlei sand dunes
area, started the day driving out of the lodge at 5am, go inside the national
park that opens at 6am, to catch the morning light on the dunes.

Spent the whole day walking around dunes, skipped the popular ones (Big Daddy dune and Dune 45) with long lines of tourists
walking up.

Instead head to Big Mama Dune, walking up along the ridge to the
top, stay for a long time to enjoy the view in near solitude.
