Ring of Kerry tour, southwest coast Ireland 1/3

This is the last part of the southwest Atlantic coast in Ireland that we have not visited. We tried to avoid peak summer months and now have to face unstable stormy weather. At night, the extra loud noise of heavy rain on the camper roof is frightening, very hard to sleep well.

Anyway, with usual Irish weather, there are always dry sunny moment in the day to do some walking and sightseeing.

Skellig Michael Islands in the distance

The most famous along the coast are the cliffs, and ancient Monasteries built on high up on Skellig Michael Islands, small rocky islands to be reached by boat on a calm day. We don't have such calm day and need to come back for it. Watched the wonderful video to explain the history in Skellig tourist center.

Kerry cliffs

The cliffs can be admired by a short walk up hill, to reach the edge of the cliffs, they are dramatic!
