Baked artichokes



After a few rounds of steamed artichokes, it is time to vary the recipe to bake them. This involves a lot of preparation, using a serrated knife to trim the off the outside scales, cut the top off just below the girdle.



Scoop out the fine hairy centre, add flavours to this otherwise quite bland vegetable, like walnut butter /pesto/ salami etc. Bake at 170˚C until cooked, around 30 minutes. 

 


It is a pretty presentation, but indeed a lot of work, won’t do this often.
