Collected a basket of marrons from
wild chestnut trees in the forest. From what I can tell, marron, according to the
French, is a different species of chestnut, the size is at lest 50% bigger
than normal chestnut, and the nut inside is smooth with few wrinkles. The French
use marron to make the sugared treat - Marron glace.

When cooked, marron is less sweet and more
powdery than chestnut.
