coconut turmeric drink |
This is another tasty way to have turmeric
daily, and easy to make. Simply use a good quality coconut milk, warm up and
stir in half teaspoon of turmeric, add a little honey to round up the taste.
mature coconuts without the fibrous shell |
I found in the supermarket in Hong Kong
this year these mature coconuts without the fibrous shell. It is possible to
make our own fresh coconut milk, with a bit of work.
soaked mature coconut |
Carefully use the edge of a big chopper to
dig into the nut, then cut into quarters. Cut away the thin brown outer skin,
soak in water for a day to soften a bit, keep in the fridge. Either uses a micro-plane grater (if you have a lot of energy) or cut into
pieces and use a blender to shred it. Soak grated coconut in the soaking water with a pinch of salt,
squeeze a few times.

Bring to simmer and sieve out the coconut
milk, it will be a lot thinner than those form a tin, stir in the half teaspoon
of turmeric.
