Garlic flower stem |
The hard neck type garlic is throwing up a
flower stem, which will drain the energy for growing the bulb underground. So
the best is to cut them away, and cook them, nothing wasted.

Cut into pieces, stir-fry in a little oil,
water, brown sugar and soy sauce, until how you like them - when crunchy they
are garlicky spicy, when cooked soft, they are sweet and floury.
