Roast pork with figs


I used the last figs from the tree to cook this rolled shoulder of pork, the sauce is thick and mildly sweet.

1. Season rolled shoulder of pork with miso paste, soy sauce, 5 spices powder and crushed garlic for at least a day.

2. Place pork in baking dish, cover with thyme and cut up figs, half a glass of liqueur and soy sauce to make the sauce.

3. Bake at 180˚C, 15 minutes for each 500gm of pork, and 15 minutes more, then rest in the oven with door ajar for another 15 minutes, for a pink in the middle result.
