The Setas structure in the middle of the town is
impressive. Magnificent from many angles below, like UFO or giant
waffle. Fantastic sun shade for people to gather bellow.
The ticket allows you to enter twice, for walking on the
pathway on top of the roof, with wonderful panorama views. And to walk
at night, when there is a light show, imitating Auroras effect,
interesting experience.
There are some small palaces or Casa (grand estates) built in the 11c, with design and decoration from that era. I visited Casa de Pilato, beautiful layout with the inside walls covered in the most fantastic ceramic tiles, mesmerising pattern and colours. The courtyard gardens are also the best I have seen in Seville.
It is a pleasant stroll around Santa Cruz area, with narrow winding paths and white washed buildings. What I like most is that there are trees in even the smallest open spaces and also in internal courtyards, that I like to peep into.
Plaza Espana is a huge area built for an expo, with show buildings, mini canals and bridges, many horse carriages for tourist to have fun.
Mercado de Tirana, across old bridge Isabella, is the place to see the vast local produce, plus imported ones. There are fish stores and restaurants, where you can find simply cooked fresh seafood, especially shellfish like scallops, clams, razor clams, squid and of course fish too.
Watched another flamenco show highly recommended by our Airbnb host, La Casa del Flemanco-Auditorio Alcantara. The one hour performance is in the courtyard of a hotel, small stage and small group of audiences. Really great to be so close to the dancers, can feel their highly charged energetic movements.
Had tapas at a traditional place Bodega Santa Cruz, eating at the bar, loads of people, both locals and tourists. Highly active and fun bar waiter, great buzzing atmosphere, food is pretty good and really cheap, Euro 3.5 per tapas.
A decent dinner at El Pasaje Santa Maria la Blanca, nice restaurant good cooking and opens from 5pm, most decent restaurants open at 8pm.
