The taste of salty
sweet smoked fish goes well with rice. Instead of making sushi rice rolls, with
rice outside and fish and vegetable sticks inside, which means having a lot of
rice to eat and very little fish and vegetable, I prefer to mix the ingredients
in.
1. In a large flat
dish, mix 1 cup of rice with 1.5 cup of boiling water, steam until just soft,
around 30 minutes. Use a fork to loosen rice.
2. Cut carrot and
green bell pepper or cucumber into cubes, season with lemon juice, salt and
pepper. Cut smoked bonito into cubes.
3. Mix rice with fish
and vegetables, as much as the rice could still stick everything together. Line
a cup with cling film, press rice mixture in and turn over onto plate.
