A healthy snack with fruit and nut, no
added sugar. Use up a lot of figs especially those that does not look good or
over ripe.
Fresh figs 2000gm
Flour 100 gm
Nut 400gm
Olive or coconut oil 50gm
Optional
Spices (turmeric / 5 spices/ ginger/ cardamon)
Coconut flakes
Flax seed
Citrus peel

1. Cut figs and season with a good pinch
of salt and spices, stir well and rest for half an hour to let the juice come
out.
2. Mix with flour and nut, rest for an hour
for flour and nut to soak up the liquid to form a thick paste.
3. Mix with oil and pour on a baking tray
lined with baking paper. Bake at 150˚ for half an hour, reduce heat to 100˚C
for 2 hours.
4. Take the paper with the slab of fruit
nut bar and place on baking rack to continue drying for another 2 hours.

5. Cut the slab into pieces and back into
the oven to dry, around 4 hours more.
