Chocolate yogurt 'gelato'



It is summer, though not hot at all in Ireland, it is still nice to have ice cream, with my machines all packed, there is no way to make it.

Found an organic yogurt, Greek style, made with milk, cream and culture that a has a rich thick texture that reminded me of Italian gelato. So I tried mixing it with melted dark chocolate, a little honey, and the texture is wonderful, a thick soft ice cream!

1. Bring yogurt to room temperature.

2. Cut dark chocolate into small pieces, melt in a hot water bath.

3. Add a spoon of yogurt at a time to chocolate, mix well, warm up every time in the water bath to stop chocolate solidifying.

4. Sweeten with honey, keep in the fridge and will harden a little bit.

(roughly 1part dark chocolate to 4 parts yogurt, depending on your taste)
