Unfortunately it was another misty rainy day, could not appreciate the dramatic mountain scenery along route 655 to Hellesylt.
Carry on to Alesund, a beautifully situated city at the Atlantic coast. A popular tourist destination with two giant cruises there and loads of tourists milling around.
The whole city with traditional wood buildings were completely destroyed in a fire in 1904. Rebuilt in stone in the style of that era, Art Nouveau. Very interesting to see a complete city centre of the same building style.
Even better was to hike up the 418 steps up a steep hill in the park. The view of the old town is beautiful, and the distance panorama of many small islands is stunning.
Leave Aselund and heading to the famous Atlantic Ocean Road, stopped next to the sea at Orsnes. Great mackerel fishing spot, fishermen came back with 8 after just half an hour.
