Finally a sunny day, clear blue sky, lovely warm in the sunshine, perfect to start the Atlantic journey.
Drove via Molde on to the Atlantic Way, first stop is Bud, stopped early and found a site with a gras lawn and next to the sea, to enjoy the sunshine and beautiful views.
There are many islands around, all very flat, unlike the mountainous fjords inland.
Breakfast was pan fried mackerel on toast, lunch was pan fried mackerel with veg. Last night had sashimi, the colour and texture is exactly like tuna belly. It is a luxury to have such fresh and big fatty mackerels, absolutely no smell.
Salted all mackerels last night. Used the time to prepare some in Gravlax style, using soy sauce and sugar as marinade. Some added into vinegar, onion, sugar and pepper pickling liquid, like Rollmops. To enjoy having mackerel longer.
Found a spot with green grass next to the sea at Bud, to enjoy the sunshine .
