I like growing sweet potatoes, just bury
them in the soil in June, and they will send shoots up in July, they like hot
weather.
The heart shape leaves are beautiful and
they spread on the ground and become a good ground cover. To promote its
growth, I cut half meter of the shoot off and bury them elsewhere, it will
develop as another plant. The more you cut, the more they branch out and become
vigorous.
These young shoots could be cooked in a
little water with olive oil and salt, very nutritious and tasty.
In around
September, they form small trumpet flowers, after that I could dig up the
tubers.
