Water holes in Etosha national park, Namibia

giraffe, springboks, warthogs

In northern Namibia, 9 months of the year has no rain at all, the land is very dry, so animals have to go to water holes for their daily drink.

Due to recent years of drought, some of the water holes have to be maintained wet with pumping of underground water to keep the wildlife healthy.

Gravel paths go round all the water holes, this make it easy to selfdrive to view a lot of wildlife in close distance.
