Stewed lamb shank in applesauce


 

With more apples to harvest, use it as a base to stew lamb shank, a white sauce with a mild acidic flavor, goes well with traditional spices of star anise and clove.

 

1. Peel and cut apples into cubes, cover with water, add star anise, clove, old mandarin peel, garlic, ginger, sugar and salt, bring to boil and cook until apple soften.

2. Add lamb shanks, simmer in the sauce for 2 hours.

3. Add potatoes, cut into pieces, simmer for another 20 minutes, sauce with thicken too.
