October is the beginning of the gloomy season, with cloudy wet days much more than clear moments. On top, there is no more work in the garden and in pottery studio, find it hard to adjust to the change.
With the mood spiralling down, we decided to take a break and tour the west Connemara coast. Went there last year with the camper, this time stayed in Clifden.
Turned out to be a good decision, 3.5 hours away, Clifden is a lively town with lots of eating places and a few well decorated old pubs with traditional music.
Went for a long walk along the harbour before the sun set, at 5:30pm. The change of scene worked, the mood is lifted. By the evening, after dinner at a tapas restaurant and whisky and music at the pub, it feels that I have been away from home for a long time.
