The old center is an UNESCO site, great to wander around, fantastic 17-19 centuries old buildings, just a pity that there are so many in poor conditions.
The Plaza de la Cathedral is the oldest, walking up the old cathedral bell tower is an experience and the view is fine.
Plaza Vieja feels like being in Spain, similar style, a place to have a drink and relax.
Plaza de Armas is unique with a large tree covered center.
Gran Teatro de la Havana is a beautiful building and where a large fleet of polished old American cars are stationed for touring trips.
Nearby Hotel Manzana has a roof top bar for the best panorama city view.
Paeso del Prado is a long tree lined walkway in between old buildings where kids come out to roller skate, adults sit around to rest.
Hotel Paseo del Prado, at the end of the walkway has the best roof top terrace for panoramic view of Havana Bay, especially at sunset.
There is the 4km long Malecon next to the coast that linked old town to Vedado, but with too many run down buildings along the way, it was not a pleasant experience to walk along the it.
Also did the tourist bus tour to go round the outskirts of Havana, to the far marina end. It is an experience to be avoided, as there is nothing to rave about, far too run down.
Havana
