Viewing of Basking sharks mating

While scooping up shrimps, met a marine biologist coming back from boating trip. Learned that there is a rare sighting of a group of basking sharks nearby. Told that it is easier to sport them from the shore than on a boat.

Went to nearby Loop Head for the view where a group of viewers gathered,  basking sharks flip out of the sea like a dolphin, then flop back down, making a loud noise and splash. Very nice experience, the sighting, and the nice warm sun.
