Tour of Inishowen, Ireland 1/4

While weather is still holding, got in the camper and off to the last part of the north coast of Donegal, Inishowen 100. A 100km loop drive of this peninsular famous for varied landscapes and beautiful golden sand beaches. This will means we have completed a round Ireland coastal trip, in 3 years.

First stop is the biggest city in the north, Sligo, a lively town, well managed, lots of interesting shops and eating places, beautiful river in the middle and bridges over.

Stayed at Buncrana, Swan Park for the night, an ex Mill house. It was a donation to the city, very nice long walking trail next to river, with 2 beautiful stone bridges.

Dunree Fort, one of 3 Glacial fjords in Ireland with deep water. Strategic location during the 2 world wars, to defend from German attack and protect from being retaken by British.

Drives in wild barren landscape through a mountain range via Mamore Gap to Dunaff Head. Bright green herring bone pattern grazing fields leading to a round peninsula in the distance. Easy cycle around the peninsula for the lost in the world atmosphere.
