Tour of Brittany, France 3/8 Audierne

Another decent port town, with a lot of boat in the harbour, nice renovated fishermen’s cottages along the harbour, very charming.

Come here for the Saturday market, not very big but with all the food items one will need. On top of buying shellfish from the 2 fish stalls, found a fishermen selling from a few baskets on the floor, big spiny lobster and spider crabs. He is obviously asking for his normal selling price, which is less than half of the price in shops.

2 spiny lobsters 35/kg , 1.5 n 1.1kg ~euro 100 direct from fisherman
12pcs Praires 16/kg
1/2kg Palourdes big grey 18/kg
6pcs flat oysters of Quiberon 9/kg
Last 3 total euro 22.4

A super windy day, not good for cycling, do the walk around Pointe du Raz, very rugged landscape with cliff and lighthouse on nearby small islands.

Around that headland there are a number of large sandy beaches, with old style hotels nearby, very desolate in the freezing cold stormy weather.
