Nancy - Art Nouveau decoration

Nancy is a town in the North East Alsace area of France, it is a strong base for the Art Nouveau period, 1890 -1910.
The theme of this period is to incorporate nature in design, using a lot of curves, plant motifs, and unsymmetrical shapes. In wandering around the streets in Nancy and the Art Nouveau Museum, I am able to admire decorations from this period that still exist in a lot of buildings.

  1. I am from Saarbrücken, which is 122 km East of Nancy, a favorite place for going to restaurants during my childhood. But it is not located in Alsace, but in the Lorraine. Alsace is more to the South-East, around the town of Strasbourg. Cheers, Pierre

  2. Are you French then? Nancy is very pretty, with wide streets and lots of open spaces. Strasbourg is good too but a bit too cramped with tourist.
