Raised vegetable beds

The target in designing the vegetable garden in this new place is to make it pretty, easy to look after the plants, and to harvest.

Using thick wood planks, 2 U shaped, a meter high, a meter wide raised beds were built. Water pipes with drip holes, automatically timer controlled, 3 rows in each bed, are placed on top of soil. Seedlings and beans are planted right next to the holes, so very little wastage of water for weeds.

Exposed soil is covered with mulch, eventually ground cover plants like pumpkin, melon, sweet potato will take over to cover all surface.
