The first year of having bees, and it is an unfavorable year, a long rainy cool spring is a very bad start, bees cannot get out to collect nectar, then extreme hot dry summer, not a lot of juicy nectar around.

I am happy that they manage to survive. 

Last look at the inside of the hives before cold weather settles. The combs are partially filled with honey, will leave it to the bees for winter food.
