Chinese sausage (臘腸) with sweet potato


The traditional way is to steam this sausage on top of rice. Since rice is mostly carbohydrate with few nutrients, instead I cut sausage into slices and place on top of cubed purple sweet potato, steam for 15 minutes. The sweet potato is mildly sweet and infused with the savory oil of sausage, very tasty, equally good with pumpkin.
