Plum harvest

Due to a wet cold spring, not ideal climate for stone fruit flowering and fruit setting, there were only small crops of cherry and peach so far this year. Plum is the exception, most trees bear a reasonable load of fruits, and maturing now.

Reine Claude
One of my favorite, I like to harvest them when they just turn from green rock hard to slightly soft and have a touch of yellow. They have very crunchy flesh and juicy, with a good balance of sweet and sour taste.

plum Agen

The famous plum for making prune, they are super sweet when deep purple and soft.

Those that are still sour but attacked by birds and insects are removed for use in cooking.
