| cranberry bush |
Planted cranberry bush early last year, a low lying plant that spread on the surface, flowers come and fruits formed. All pretty easy, no work, not attacked and by November the fruits are bright deep red.
They are sour, but found this recipe of fermenting in honey to take away the strong sourness. Simply cover cranberry with honey, add 1/2 cup of orange juice to kick start fermentation. Bubbles formed after a few days, stir everyday. Ready when there is no more bubble, fruit is crunchy, sweet and sour, great with cheese or with grilled meat.
The solution can be used as a syrup.
