Kilteery pier

Kilteery pier

First stop is Kilteery pier, simple open sea, always charming on a blue day. Pick up a few bags of seaweed on the bank to compost as fertilizer for the home garden.

Then spotted a sign that talks about a cliff walk with views of rock formations. Indeed it is a local farmer's initiative to partition off a strip of grass, on his cow field, along the cliff top, for a small fee.

The layered cliff against a blue green background, the rock formations are as good as anywhere along the Atlantic coast.  Equally attractive is the grass field, being blown by regular strong gusty wind, looks like a frozen green wavy sea.

Final stop is beach town of Ballybunion, with immensely long and very wide golden sand beach, just looking at the open space make one feels good.

One end of the beach is a cliff , with multi-colours rocks and many caves at the bottom.

At the corner of the beach, a man has been scratching large words on the sand, a form of advertisement. He must have been working since early in the morning, and don't know how long it will last. So skillful, it is a delight to watch a craftsman working.
