With the problem of supply of cereal, I decided to see if it is easy to grow some grains. The choice is this naked barley variety, a traditional cereal grown here but is not popular now because of lower yield.
The attraction for home grower to grow this variety is that this grain does not have a hard shell and needed machine to polish before able to cook. On top, it has a nice texture and swells up well, unlike the current barley available in shops.
