Shikoku Japan 日本四國 tour- Takamatsu 高松 area 1/12

I have chosen this island to visit because it is in the southern side, less snow than in the north, has a good combination of natural scenery and historical monuments. It is not a popular tourist area, very few hotel/restaurant/tourish staff/locals speak any English.

In Takamatsu town 高松, went up to the viewing deck at the Symbol Tower, for a view of the Seto sea and the town. It was a sunny day, sky and water so blue, the town is build up but with the hills at the back is beautiful.

There are square nets in the sea and boats went under to work inside, turn out to be seaweed farms.

The Ritsurin garden 栗林公園 is good to walk around, to appreciate how gardens were appreciated 400 years ago. With very old bonsai trees, ponds, sculptural stones, arranged gravel fields, groups of cherry and plum trees. Traditional houses dotted around, now turned into teahouses for taking a rest.
