Baked/steamed artichoke
Simply steam or bake artichoke until soft, eat the nuggets at the bottom of sepals, and the center heart, with the hair removed, mild nutty flavour.
Artichoke
grows so well in Ireland, a perennial plant that does not need much
work. It grows a bit like rose, you cut the central bud, and the 3
auxiliary buds with grow big. Keep cutting and more buds will come.
I
only eat them in spring when there is not much to harvest in the veg
garden. Later on, I will let them open, magnificent bluish purple
flowers, loved by bees.
