Cauliflower

Start to harvest beautifully white, dense head of cauliflower, wrapped in the middle of meter long leaves. This type of brassica plants need a lot of space to grow, not very good in small garden, and have to covered with fine net to stop white butterfly to lay eggs on the leaves.

Otherwise, other then watering, there is no work to do, just wait for them to grow big, around 4 months.
Home grown cauliflower is very firm, hard and sweet. I like to cut into florets, dry bake in the oven 170˚C until just turn soft, around 20 minutes. Mix with fresh herb, salt, olive oil dressing, to appreciate its flavour.
