Back to the misty drizzling fjord weather, arrived at Andalsnes surrounded by steep jagged mountains. Unfortunately the cable car only start at noon, we couldn’t wait that long and carried on to the Trollstigen-Geiranger direction.
It is a famous scenic area and there are many tour buses around.
First reached Trollstigen fall, a long waterfall and the approach was many switch backs up the mountain, fantastic view of the waterfall and the surrounding area. At the top were a few well designed viewing platforms.
There are many hiking trails in the area, chosen a short one at the highland along the lake, but the path is muddy with irregular size stones sliding to the lake.
Further down the road past Geiranger town, which has the most hotels and rental houses we have ever seen in this trip, is the view point for Geiranger fjord. It is actually a short fjord but the thick green water, the curve and the steep sided hill without any road is so pretty.
The last excitement is the view point at Dalsnibba, at 1480m, it is at the same level of glacier and the mountain tops around, offers a bird’s eye view of the whole area, the town, fjord and waterfalls, 14 zigzags to get up.
Stayed near Grotli, next to a lake.
