Touring Norway - Day 7 Route 50 Flåm to Geilo

Woke up to see a weak sun shining through, weather forecast promised a sunny day. Took route 50 to go up the mountain, through many tunnels, to 1000m high area that has a string of lakes.

It was great to see the change in vegetation, from forest at sea level to over the tree line, only grass and berry bushes.

Around the lake, there are wild blueberries everywhere, we have chosen the right time to visit.

It was great to feel warm sunshine, saw bright blue sky and sparkling water again. Enjoyed having alfresco lunch, pickled raw hareng, carrot and seaweed salad, sourdough scallions pancakes.

Fisherman enjoyed fly fishing in the various lakes, a pristine environment, where trouts are abundant. That’s the theory, in practice, need a lot of time to learn where and how to fish in a new place.

On the way down, found a spot near a lake at Hol for the night, and for more night fishing.
